Read aloud.
Pagoo listens.
Pagoo shows one word at a time and moves on when your child reads it right. When it goes well, more words appear. When it is hard, fewer, with more space between the letters.

Read the word aloud
Your child sees one word in large, calm text and reads it aloud.
Pagoo listens
The word turns green when it is read right. A wrong word does nothing; your child can simply try again.
More words as it flows
Pagoo keeps measuring how accurately and fluently your child reads, and shows more words at a time as reading gets easier.
A hard word gets the screen to itself.
When reading is hard, Pagoo shows fewer words with more space between the letters. Long words are always shown on their own, so your child can focus on that one. When reading flows again, more words appear.
Tap the word and Pagoo reads it.
Nobody should stay stuck. If a word won’t come, your child can tap it to hear it, and after a while they can move on. If the app doesn’t hear a word right, an adult can let your child tap through the words instead.
Photograph the homework and read it in the app.
With Pro you add your own texts: photograph homework or a page of a book, or add a PDF or e-book. Sort texts into folders, one per child or one per subject.
Built on what research supports
We don’t promise more than the research does. Here is our reasoning.
Reading aloud to someone who listens
Reading aloud with someone listening and helping is one of the best-supported ways to build reading fluency.
Read the guide →More space, but only when needed
Wider letter spacing has helped some children with dyslexia, but the results are mixed. So Pagoo uses it when reading is hard, not all the time.
Read the guide →No dyslexia fonts
Special dyslexia fonts have not improved reading in studies. Pagoo uses an ordinary, clear typeface.

Who is Pagoo for?
Children who are learning to read, from about age five to the first years of school, and children who need practice reading more fluently.
Does Pagoo help children with dyslexia?
Pagoo is not a treatment. But it gives more space between the letters and fewer words when reading is hard, and a child who gets stuck can hear the word. Plenty of reading aloud to someone who listens is exactly what many children with reading difficulties need.
Does an adult need to sit next to them?
No. An adult adds texts and can see how it is going, but your child can do the reading on their own.
What if the app does not hear a word?
Your child can tap to move on, and an adult can choose a mode where the child just taps through the words without the microphone.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 26. Speech recognition for the language is downloaded the first time.
What does it cost?
The stories in the app are always free. Pro, for your own texts, costs 349 kr a year or 49 kr a month in Sweden, and is free for the first 30 days.
